How to use the electricity calculator
- Check the electricity rate on your latest bill or prepaid vending receipt.
- Enter the rate in naira per kWh.
- Choose Units → Bill to estimate the cost of a known amount of electricity.
- Choose Amount → Units to estimate how many units a fixed Naira amount represents.
What are electricity tariff Bands A to E?
Nigeria's Service-Based Tariff framework classifies feeders into Bands A to E according to average electricity supply hours. Band A has a minimum service level of 20 hours per day, while Bands B, C, D and E have progressively lower minimum supply levels.
Why can my actual electricity bill differ?
This calculator is an estimate. Your actual bill or prepaid vending result may differ because of the exact tariff applicable to your customer, VAT treatment, fixed or service charges, arrears, debt recovery, meter adjustments and other charges. Always use your latest bill or vending receipt to confirm the applicable rate.

One electricity unit is commonly used to mean one kilowatt-hour (1 kWh), the amount of energy used by a 1,000-watt appliance operating for one hour.

Yes, for a basic energy-cost estimate. Prepaid tokens and postpaid bills can include transaction-specific deductions or charges that this standalone calculator cannot see.
Where can I find my electricity tariff rate?
