How the JAMB UTME score is structured
The 2026 JAMB training manual states that the UTME contains 180 multiple-choice questions: 60 in Use of English and 40 questions in each of the other three chosen subjects. The examination is completed in two hours.
How to use this JAMB score calculator
- Enter the number of correct answers you expect in each of the four subjects.
- Click Estimate JAMB Score.
- Use the result as a rough estimate only; compare it with your official JAMB result when available.
Why is the result an estimate?
The number of correct answers does not by itself reveal the exact official score for every candidate. In particular, Use of English has 60 questions but its sections do not necessarily contribute equally per question. This tool therefore uses simple proportional scaling to provide a useful estimate rather than pretending to reproduce JAMB's official scoring system.
JAMB score and admission
Your UTME score is only one part of admission decisions. JAMB's current information also shows that minimum tolerable admission scores can vary by institution type, and individual institutions and programmes may have their own requirements.
